Museum of Science and Industry

It can be so hit and miss when eating out with babies we always take along a packed lunch, just in case. I really wish I hadn’t when we went to MoSI http://www.mosi.org.uk/ for the mini maker faire. The food was awesome!

Food… The childrens meals were good value at £3.49 for 5 items. Little sandwiches, cheese, fruit and veg sticks and crisps.

But what we really liked is that all of the food would have been OK for Miles. I had a lancashire cheese and tomato tart with new potatoes and summer vegetables. I was  impressived with the vegetables as they were cooked really well. There is no excuse for a soggy green bean! Mark had a pie (he couldn’t resist). He had a little bit of both and loved it. There were pizzas ready to order, and make your own salads that I know Miles would have really loved.

The highchairs… I am a massive lover of the antilop. Ridiculous value for money, easy to clean and Miles sits in it really nicely. The chairs at MoSI were strangely huge, and Miles is a pretty big boy anyway. He could barely get his arms over the top of he tray! There were another styles knocking about, but they were all taken.

The museum… We went for the mini-maker faire and it was a geeks paradise. Miles went in the sling and loved being at head height with everyone. He especially enjoyed the electronic instruments and laser harp.

The experiment gallery in the main building was a big hit. He enjoyed crawling in the play area and was fascinated with a wooden toy that spun round. All the hands on displays were are hand height for little ones, and older children were having a wail of a time running round in all the space.

staring at strangers! Nosey!

quick cuddle in the sling.

Would I go back? Hell yes! I would go our of my way just to eat there I think. Can’t wait to go back.
